When I started training with Master Mike back in 1998, I had been running competitively for more than 12 years.
I instantly fell in love with the camaraderie, the intense workouts, and the daily challenges of training.
I began competing in Muay Thai in 1999, and ended up at the first Amateur Muay Thai World Championships in
Austria in 2000. Unfortunately, an injury has kept me from competing in the ring anymore, but I still love
training and teaching the art. Luckily, I can still compete in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and after training for
seven years, I still feel like I have so much more to learn. For me, discovering Martial Arts has changed
my life. Teaching students at Evolve Academy is more rewarding than anything I’ve ever done. I believe that
the benefits we give our students are unlimited -- amazing total body fitness, self confidence, a sense of
family, and of course unrivaled self defense skills. Teaching the children at Evolve is often more rewarding
because you can actually see their entire character transform into someone more confident, more responsible,
more respectful, and on top of that, highly capable of defending themselves.
