I was heavily involved in athletics back home in Trinidad. Every year, coaches from the US traveled to different Caribbean islands seeking
the top runners in their particular distances. In 1994, I was regarded as Trinidad’s top runner in the middle distances (800m and 1500m).
Based on my achievement, I was offered track scholarships to a couple of schools in the US. I accepted a track scholarship from Howard
University to study Mechanical Engineering. During my years at Howard, I was awarded MVP in 1997 and 1998 in track.
I am now a mechanical engineer for Washington Metro, but as soon as I graduated from Howard, I knew I wanted to get involved in a
full-contact sport. I had been watching K-1 tournaments, and realized quickly that the one thing all the winners had in common was
Muay Thai. I had some boxing experience from back home and recognized the similarities between boxing and Muay Thai, so I began my
search for the best school in the area. I joined Master Moses’ group in 2000, made the WKA Amateur National Team in 2002 and achieved
the rank of black belt in PDS in 2005. After achieving the goal of fighting, there was only one thing greater and that was to teach
others how to fight. I trained my first fighter in 2004 and ever since then it has been a great journey. My greatest goal, with the
help of Master Moses and the Evolve family, is to create one of the best Muay Thai fighting programs in the US.
